What To Read After Watching
I can’t be the only person back in How To Train Your Dragon mode after the latest movie. While I have a lot of nostalgia for the books, I don’t think the books alone can scratch the itch. So I’ve been looking for some more books with dragons. Only one of these doesn’t involve people but it’s such a fun story Ali had to include it.
🐲 Forth Wing: Everyone’s first grab when trying to find an Adult Dragon novel. This is a Romance that takes place at a war college. It follows Violet who spent her life training for the scholars school, but joins the Dragon Riding school when here mother forces her. She meets Xaden, a son of a rebel leader who is trying to kill her. The book is giving Divergent but Dragons.
🐲When The Moon Hatched: In this book Dragons become moons after they die and the moons sometimes fall out of the sky. The story Folows Raeve who is a member of a rebel group. She gets captured by the nobles and meets Kaan Vaegor.
🐲 Tooth and Claw: This is a Victorian romance but dragons. The novel focuses on a family loosing their patriarch and how they split his wealth. There’s a romantic plot and lots of eat each other for health reasons.
🐲A Natural History of Dragons: A memoir By Lady Trent: Tells the story of Lady Trent who was the first person to study dragons as science. It’s a story about a nerdy girl who breaks gender norms of the Victorian Age to become a scientific household name.
🐲 Together We Burn: This story is about Zarela Zalvidar, a dancer whose father fights dragons. When he is horribly injured she has to take his place while somebody tries to ruin her family. There’s a handsome dragon hunter who refuses to teach her.
