Okay y’all, Missouri is hot right now. Like too hot to exist hot. But unfortunately I have to actually go and do things, but when I go to my hometown I have to stop at my favorite place ever. I only pictured the lotuses and lemonade because I eat the ice cream too fast. lol.
They’re one of the few places that still carry Superman Ice Cream and Locally owned. So if you’re from Missouri or just passing through please check them out, I can’t sustainably drive an hour every day for my lotus, coffee and ice cream fix.
How is everyone doing with this heatwave? I can’t do any farm chores for more than 10 minutes at a time because I am overheating. I impulse bought a tanning pool some prepared for me posting from the pool.
... Read moreOkay, so when that Missouri heatwave hits, and you just can't fathom another minute outside, where do you go? For me, it's always Pine Mountain Country Coffee House & Mercantile in Festus, MO. It's more than just a coffee shop; it's a full-on oasis, especially when the humidity is trying to melt you.
Now, let's talk about the stars of the show: their Lotus drinks. If you haven't had a Lotus, you're missing out! These aren't your average energy drinks; they're handcrafted, vibrant, and incredibly refreshing. I’m completely obsessed with their 'JAWS LOTUS' – it's got this amazing layered look, usually a beautiful blend of pink and blue, and tastes like a tropical dream. It's truly the perfect pick-me-up. And if you're feeling adventurous, the 'BLOSSOM LOTUS' is another fantastic choice, often bursting with fruity notes that just hit different on a hot day. They also have delicious lemonades, like the 'STITCH LEMONADE,' which is pure bliss.
But it’s not just about the Lotus. This place is one of the few spots left that still carries Superman Ice Cream! Remember that iconic, colorful swirl of red, blue, and yellow? It's pure nostalgia in a scoop, and trust me, it tastes even better when you're trying to escape the summer sun. It's a rare treat that makes this coffee house stand out. Plus, it's locally owned, which always makes me feel good about supporting them.
The 'Mercantile' part of their name isn't just for show either. Inside, it's got such a charming, cozy vibe, often with local goods and crafts, making it a great place to browse while you wait for your order or just relax. It's not just a grab-and-go; it's an experience. You can see why it’s my 'My Favorite Place' from the moment you step in, perhaps catching a glimpse of a classic Coca-Cola refrigerator in the background, adding to that rustic, welcoming charm.
They also have another location, Fielder's Choice at Ballpark Village, which is super convenient if you're closer to that area or catching a game. So, whether you're a local from the Mississippi side of Missouri, just passing through, or desperately seeking refuge from the heat, you absolutely need to check out Pine Mountain Country Coffee House & Mercantile. Seriously, I can't drive an hour every day for my lotus, coffee, and ice cream fix, but I wish I could!
