Happy Banned Book Week 2025

Guys I'm so excited for this week! Posting my posts are going to be a breeze so I'm going to do this post's caption and then give you this week and part of next weeks schedule on all platforms. Because your girl is actually posting.

Banned Book Week is one of my favorite weeks because it's when I learn who payed attention in school and who doesn't know how to read on what banned books are and are not.

Let's clear that up first.

✅ Banned Books are books taken out of libraries and schools for various reasons.

❌ Banned books aren't illegal to own.

✅ Books can be challenged by anyone

❌ Just because a book is challenged doesn't mean it's banned.

Why do we celebrate it? Because it's important to learn about censorship and how it happens. The most frequent reasons books get banned is for profanity, LGBTQ+ topics or "romantic" themes. If a book goes against one persons morals suddenly it's put on trial, and it's considered guilty until proven innocent.

This years theme is "Censorship is so 1984- Read For Your Rights" which is amazing and they have amazing graphics on their website and socials. I'll be posting using a few of those but due to Lemon8 creator rules I can't do it too often.

Monday 10/6-Happy Banned Book Week! On Lemon8 and Tik Tok

Tik Tok is also going to get a video monthly reading wrap and possibly and a desk tour if my mic is in. I also might be going live if the Mic is there either playing sims or Planet Zoo or Coaster.

Tuesday 10/7- Children's Banned Books on Lemon8 and Tik Tok: Going into depth about some banned and challenged books aimed at kids.

Tik Tok also gets a video about my TBR for October

Possible Live depending on how tired I am after work

Wednesday 10/8- Lemon8/Tik Tok are moving on to Teen/ YA banned books

Maybe a Live

Thursday 10/9- Lemon8/ Tik Tok are banned books in School.

Maybe a Live

Friday 10/10- Lemon8/ Tik Tok Why we can't ban books

No Live Clara Has DND probably.

Saturday 10/11- Lemon8/ Tik Tok a massive post about the history of book Banning.

YouTube Video hopefully about Book banning

Maybe a Tik Tok Live depending on how my internet is handling it.

I'll start posting my weekly schedule in its own post on Sundays starting next week.
