McDonald’s x Kpop Demon Hunters Collab - Golden?
Just like everybody else in the world, I watched Netflix’s Kpop Demon Hunters and really enjoyed it. So when I heard McDonald’s was having a collaboration meal, I knew I wanted to try it. I got the Huntrix Meal Set, which comes with 10-piece chicken nuggets (with 2 sauces for free, I chose the special Hunter and Demon sauces), medium Ramyeon shaker fries, and a medium drink (coca cola or sprite for free, others vary). It also came with a special box and two trading cards (very kpop-esque lol). Here’s my breakdown:
Price: 4/10
~$15 total. Honestly, a little expensive for what it is :/ Didn’t really love the price, but it is what it is.
Visuals: 6/10
I think the box was cute, and I liked how each component was designed separately too. The photocards were holographic which was nice, but otherwise nothing too crazy. It was cute for a fast food box set, but nothing too out of the ordinary.
Flavor:
Ramyeon Shaker Fries: 10/10, I was skeptical at first because I had to assemble it myself (put fries in paper bag, pour seasoning in, shake really hard) but that seasoning was rrrreeeaaaalllllyyy good. I couldn’t stop eating it because it was sooo delicious. It didn’t really taste like a specific ramyeon brand, but it had the notes of soy sauce and sesame oil that I really like, so it was just really delicious. My one gripe is that it was a little hard to coat the fries evenly, but that might be an issue on my side since I didn’t want to shake too hard in case the bag fell apart in my car (which it didn’t!).
Chicken nuggets: 8/10, standard McDonald’s chicken nuggets. Crispy and delicious.
Hunter Sauce: 6/10, a little bit sour, veeerrry slightly spicy. Pretty good, but I’m kind of averse to sauces overall.
Demon Sauce: 7/10, kind of similar to the hunter sauce, maybe a little less sour? Again, I’m just not a huge fan of sauces but if I had to choose between the two, I’d say I liked the demon sauce a little more. The purple color was interesting!
Lemonade: 7/10, I had to pay an extra $0.90 for this which sucked a litte, but I don’t like coca cola or sprite much so that’s on me. Standard McDonald’s lemonade, nice and refreshing.

While the Hunter and Demon sauces didn't wow me in terms of intensity or uniqueness, their subtle sour and slightly spicy notes paired nicely with the nuggets. I especially liked the Demon sauce’s purple color, as it gave a fun, thematic vibe that fits with the Demon Hunters concept. Price-wise, at around $15, the meal felt a bit on the higher side for fast food, but considering it’s a limited-time collaboration with exclusive packaging and collectibles, some might find it worth the splurge. For me, it felt more like a treat or novelty purchase rather than an everyday meal choice. Overall, if you enjoy trying new fast food collaborations, are a fan of Kpop culture, or want to experience a Korean flavor twist with McDonald’s, this meal set is definitely worth a shot. Just be prepared to mix your own fries and expect some premium pricing.
