How to not panic and be ahead in the AI economy

😫 The growing anxiety

Every day I see news headlines about companies laying off staff or reducing their workforce.

It really is a challenging time to be living in. The media keeps pushing the idea of upskilling and reskilling, and with new AI tools popping up nonstop, we are constantly bombarded with information.

Over time, it creates this anxious feeling that we are falling behind, like everyone else is moving forward while we do not even know where to begin.

🙅🏻‍♂️ The skill AI cannot replace

But here is my take. Tools are simply tools at the end of the day.

Yes, it is important to know how to use them efficiently, just like how companies once valued proficiency in Microsoft software as a basic skill.

However, what will truly set you apart, in my opinion, are your critical thinking skills. AI can help with finding and creating information, but it cannot replace your ability to analyse, judge, and make sense of what you see.

✋🏻 Before you use AI, know this

In the workplace or anywhere, problems can often look complicated, vague and unclear.

In situations like these, what you need is the ability to ask the right questions, gather the correct information, define the problem clearly, and then use AI to help generate a solution.

A simple example would be when your partner is angry with you. Buying roses or gifts to calm the situation is like using AI to create solutions without understanding the real issue.

What truly matters is understanding the root cause. AI can generate answers, but it cannot decide what question or problem actually needs to be solved.

That clarity still comes from you. When you identify the real problem, the tool becomes far more effective and the solution becomes meaningful.

Without clarity, even the most advanced tools cannot help you.

✨ In summary

🤖 AI is a tool.

🧭 Your mind is the compass.

🧑🏻‍💼 You lead the tool with a defined problem.

What are your views on this?

What other skills do you think will matter most in an AI-driven world?

... Read moreThe feeling of uncertainty caused by global firms reducing their workforce amid AI advancements can be overwhelming. From my experience, it's crucial not to succumb to panic but rather focus on proactive steps. Beyond just learning to use popular tools like ChatGPT or Midjourney, deeply understanding the evolving market trends helps you stay adaptable. Constantly updating your skills is important, but what truly makes the difference is sharpening your critical thinking and problem-definition abilities. AI can generate answers, but only you can decide what question needs solving — this mindset shift transforms tools into powerful allies rather than sources of anxiety. Personally, I found that engaging with communities focused on AI and economic changes provides valuable insights and emotional support. Also, balancing skill development with mental wellness keeps stress manageable. Remember, your unique human judgment and adaptability will distinguish you as the economy evolves.

Spend smartly in this economy!!
I used to spend a lot on beauty maintenance every month, I did some calculations and that adds up to thousands of dollars on a yearly basis. Lately I’ve been a lot more conscious of my spending habits and have switched to DIY/doing at home instead of spending hundreds of dollars going to salons.
