how to do a candida cleanse 🌿

What is a candida cleanse?

a cleanse to reduce the overgrowth of candida albicans, which is a type of yeast that disrupts digestion, causes skin issues and other gut issues. This cleanse can last anywhere from 4-6 weeks, depending on the severity

How to do a candida cleanse (beginner friendly)

1: consume anti-candida foods ~ this includes dark, leafy greens (broccoli, kale, spinach), lean protein and healthy fats such as avocado and antifungal spices (ginger, turmeric, etc)

2: consume probiotics ~ consuming more probiotics is a great way to restore gut health (ex: kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut, greek yogurt, and other fermented foods)

3: stay hydrated ~ drinking plenty of water is key to detoxifying your body. Try adding some lemon to your water for an extra detox boost

4: manage stress ~ chronic stress can impact your immune function, which contributes to candida overgrowth. Incorporate stress reducing activities into your routine such as yoga, meditation, walking, etc

5: exercise regularly ~ exercising is a great way to detoxify your body through sweating. Aim for 30 minutes of daily movement

This process typically lasts between 4 to 6 weeks. The first step is to incorporate anti-candida foods into your diet, including dark leafy greens like broccoli and kale, lean proteins, and healthy fats such as avocados. Including antifungal spices like ginger and turmeric in your meals also promotes a healthier gut environment. Probiotics play a crucial role in the cleanse, helping to restore a balanced gut microbiome. Foods such as kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut, and Greek yogurt are excellent sources. Managing stress is equally important, as it can negatively affect your immune system and contribute to yeast overgrowth. Consider integrating practices like yoga, meditation, or simple walks into your daily routine. Don't forget to stay hydrated! Drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins from your body. Adding lemon to your water can enhance detoxification efforts. Lastly, regular exercise can further aid the detoxification process, improving both physical and mental health. Aim for at least 30 minutes of movement every day. Following these steps can significantly improve gut health and well-being.
