reasons why I wish we eloped…👀

Me and my husband got married almost two years ago, and although I don’t regret our decision to have a wedding I definitely wish I put more thought into considering an elopement!

We all know how extremely expensive weddings are nowadays, and sometimes I feel like the wedding planning and never ending expenses takes away from the special moment.

Some of the pros and cons of having a wedding include:

Pros: it’s a day of celebration we can to share with our loved ones

Cons: it’s a lot of work to plan, expensive and the day feels like it goes by too fast

Some of the pros and cons of considering an elopement can include:

Pros: getting eloped means saving money, traveling more and purchasing a home sooner. It also takes away the stress of wedding planning

Cons: I often wonder if we went this route, would we regret not having a wedding? Afterall, money comes and goes

What are your thoughts on having a traditional wedding vs getting eloped?

For many, the financial burden of weddings can be staggering. With the average wedding costing over $30,000, many couples wonder if this expense is justified for just one day. Choosing to elope allows couples to redirect their resources towards experiences that truly matter to them, such as traveling or investing in a home. In addition to flexible budgets, eloping often provides a more personal and stress-free experience, as couples are not constrained by guest lists and extensive planning. However, some might worry about missing out on the memories created from a grand wedding. The cultural significance and shared celebration with loved ones can be substantial, leaving lasting emotional ties. Ultimately, the decision between an elopement and a traditional wedding is a deeply personal one, reflecting individual values, priorities, and financial situations. It's essential for couples to navigate their own preferences and consider what will bring them lasting happiness.
