we lived together before getting married 💭🏠
me and my husband lived together before marriage, but sometimes I wish we waited.
At the time, some of the pros that made us decide to live together before getting married were: we’d save money on rent, convenience and it would be a way to help us determine if we could make it in the “long run”
However, looking back now, I wish we waited until marriage to move in together and here’s why
I truly think there is something beautiful about waiting to move in until marriage by prioritizing commitment as the foundation of the relationship instead of convenience
waiting to live together is something sacred that will be so much more special if done after marriage!
Lastly, I think waiting to move together after marriage would’ve given us more time to grow individually and learn how to solve issues on our own.

Living together before marriage is a debated topic for many couples. While some view it as a practical step towards a strong foundation, others consider it a test of commitment. This choice often stems from reasons like financial savings on rent and the desire to see if a couple can endure the challenges of long-term living. However, many later reflect on the deeper meaning behind marriage and the symbolic act of waiting until then to share a home. The choice to delay cohabitation until after marriage can foster a sense of commitment that may seem diluted when convenience takes precedence. This postponement not only enhances the significance of the living arrangement but also allows each partner to grow individually, addressing personal challenges independently. It can enrich the mutual respect and understanding in the relationship, preparing the couple for a more profound connection. Furthermore, prioritizing your relationship before moving in together emphasizes the beauty of commitment as the cornerstone of a successful partnership. Couples who wait often state that the act of sharing a home post-marriage becomes much more special. It transforms the living arrangements from a practical decision into a sacred bond of shared lives, reinforcing their marital union. Ultimately, whether to live together before marriage is a personal decision that varies from one couple to another, but understanding the implications behind the choice can lead to more enriching relationship dynamics.

That’s such a great view point of this! I think about it sometimes, but then I’m overall glad we are living together first because we are learning so much about each other and figuring out how we want the rest of our life to be before making that final commitment.
