how I create happiness outside of my relationship🙂‍↔️

It’s so easy to lose yourself in a relationship.Trust me, I know. I’ve been with my partner for over 14 years, and through the ups and downs, one thing I’ve learned is how important it is to cultivate happiness outside of the relationship too.

Here are a few things that have helped me stay grounded in myself while still growing with my partner and pursuing my own happiness!

1. I Welcome Challenge and Growth

One of the most fulfilling ways I’ve found joy within myself is by embracing challenge. Lately, I’ve been pushing myself through running and fitness goals—signing up for a half marathon has tested me mentally and physically in the best way.

2. I Maintain Friendships Outside of My Relationship

It’s great if you and your partner share the same social circle, but I’ve found it just as important to have friendships that are just my own. Prioritizing girlhood and nurturing healthy friendships has brought so much joy and balance to my life.

3. I Make Time for Myself

Alone time is something I’ve come to cherish. It’s when I reflect on my purpose, check in with myself, and reconnect with what brings me joy beyond my relationship.

4. I Pursue My Own Hobbies

While I love doing things with my partner, I also value exploring my own interests. Recently, I’ve gotten into Lagree Pilates—it's been such an empowering and refreshing challenge for me.

5. I Stay Rooted in Faith

Prayer and reading my Bible are daily practices that ground me. They help nurture my spiritual growth, deepen my relationship with God, and give me a better understanding in how I show up in my relationship.
