Okay, so I just finished watching Love Island Season 7, Episode 16, and I still can't get over the fact that Huda was still in the villa. Seriously, HUDA was supposed to leave! It felt like everyone, both inside and outside the villa, was in agreement that her time was up. My goodness, I blame everyone in that villa for what was about to happen to Hannah, and potentially her future crash out, all because Huda was kept around when she clearly should have gone. From my perspective, Huda’s behavior, especially her inability to take rejection, was a major issue. When Jeremiah didn't pick her, choosing Iris instead, it was clear that the boys had seen through her. No one wanted her. I remember her pulling Pepe for a chat, and even then, Pepe was subtly trying to inform her that he liked calm, chill girls, essentially giving her every inclination that he wasn't really into her. But the problem with Huda is that she truly cannot take that hint. She seemed to operate under the belief that she's everybody's type, and any man she wanted, wanted her back. It was painful to watch her try to break through Pepe’s deflections, often resorting to physical touch, which was her go-to strategy with Jeremiah as well. She goes in for that 'I gotta touch you, I gotta captivate you and get you physically drawn in' approach, hoping to associate good feelings with liking her. But let's be real, baby, everybody doesn't want to be touched like that, and it felt like she just didn't get it. She even went after TJ, even though she clearly knew she wasn't his type. It felt like something in her ego just wouldn't let her back down, because she simply does not know how to just take rejection. This kind of dynamic really messed with the overall vibe of Love Island S7 ep 16 and the days following. Thinking about other islanders, Hannah, for example, had a different journey. I think she played the game a little wrong by being so closed off with Jeremiah initially. But Huda’s presence and her relentless pursuit overshadowed a lot of the genuine connections trying to form. We saw Sienna and Nick trying to figure things out; Sierra having more of the masculine energy in that relationship, chasing Nick. It makes you wonder how different things would be if the cast was less focused on the drama Huda brought and more on authentic connections. The season was missing a little bit of juice, a little more love factor, because of all the drama. In previous seasons, you'd see someone like Janae, who was actively trying and failing with multiple connections, but she kept putting herself out there and deserved a redemption arc. The girls kept her in the villa because she wasn't locked in on zero. Huda's situation felt different; she didn't seem to deserve the same grace. It felt like she was a sacrificial lamb in a way, kept for drama, but it came at the expense of a more balanced and 'love-filled' season. It was embarrassing watching her force flirtations and compliments. Jeremiah, who seemed like the teen nerd who just got hot and was discovering new baddies, needed someone like Andrina—who Huda probably thinks she is in her head. Huda was just too much of a chaos cluster for him. So, yeah, my thoughts on Love Island S7 Ep 16 are overwhelmingly that Huda should have left. The villa would have been better for it, and perhaps we'd have seen more genuine love stories unfold sooner.
