... Read moreAs someone who recently ventured to Canberra, Australia, I found the city offers much more than its reputation as a political hub. While the iconic Parliament House is a must-see, I was pleasantly surprised by the city's unique blend of culture, nature, and local lifestyle. One of my favorite experiences was visiting the Australian War Memorial. It’s incredibly well curated and offers a poignant glimpse into Australia’s history. Beyond major landmarks, walking around the neighborhoods revealed charming street art and cozy cafes that showcased Canberra’s thriving community spirit. For nature lovers, the city's green spaces like Lake Burley Griffin provide a scenic escape where you can kayak, bike, or just enjoy a leisurely stroll. I found the local farmers markets to be an excellent place to try fresh produce and meet friendly locals. Traveling as a newcomer, joining forums such as "#newtolemon8" was helpful for tips and connecting with others fresh to the area. Overall, Canberra offers a welcoming atmosphere and diverse experiences that made my visit personally enriching and memorable.
