Graduation cap ideas!
TO MY TRAVEL GIRLIES
Graduating soon and looking for that perfect personal touch for your cap? I totally get it! Your graduation cap is more than just a piece of academic regalia; it's a blank canvas to express your personality, your journey, and your dreams. For all my fellow travel girlies out there, I’ve been exploring some amazing DIY graduation cap ideas, especially focusing on travel and ocean themes that I found right at Hobby Lobby! When I started brainstorming, I knew I wanted something that spoke to my wanderlust. Hobby Lobby is a treasure trove for craft supplies, and I was so excited to find everything from glitter cardstock to adorable dimensional stickers. For a travel-themed cap, think about incorporating elements like mini globes, airplanes, suitcases, or even tiny maps. I particularly loved the travel-themed cardstock stickers with phrases like "adventure awaits," "travel far and often," and "wander wonder repeat." There were even dimensional stickers with an airplane, luggage, a passport, and a camera—plus a "JET-SETTER APPROVED" tag! These are perfect for telling your travel story right on top of your head. If an ocean-themed cap is more your vibe, Hobby Lobby has got you covered too. Imagine a cap adorned with shimmering blue and green glitter cardstock to mimic the sea, delicate paper flowers in pastel shades of pink, light blue, and cream acting as corals or seafoam, and perhaps some charming sea creature cutouts. You could even use small seashells (check the floral section!) or pearls to create a truly aquatic masterpiece. I saw some beautiful iridescent materials that would make your cap sparkle like sunlight on the water. For a truly unique touch, consider a quote about the sea or your journey to the future. Don't be afraid to mix and match! Maybe you're a travel girlie who also loves the ocean? Combine elements like a map with a beautiful blue ocean, or a tiny airplane flying over a wave. The key is to make it your own. When you're at Hobby Lobby, keep an eye out for embellishments like adhesive gems, different textures of paper, and even small trinkets that can be securely glued onto your cap. Remember to use a strong adhesive like E6000 or a hot glue gun (with adult supervision!) to make sure all your beautiful decorations stay put throughout the ceremony. Layering is also a great technique – start with a base of colored cardstock, then add your main design elements, and finish with smaller details like glitter, pearls, or tiny motivational phrases. It’s all about creating depth and visual interest that tells your unique story as you embark on your next adventure!
