There's a Japanese community here in Philippines. Sizable one at that too. Here, in Makati the Legazpi area - there is an array of high end Japanese restaurants for a decent price. 6 dishes for around 80 dollars plus drinks.

What really sets Edoya apart, as I learned, is that all their chefs are from Japan. You can taste that expertise and commitment to traditional preparation in every single dish. It’s not just Japanese-inspired; it's the real deal. My dining experience there was a journey through various textures and tastes. I remember seeing photos of their perfectly grilled unagi, caramelized just right, and it was even better in person – tender, flaky, and rich. Another absolute highlight was their yakisoba. Unlike many places, Edoya’s version is packed with fresh vegetables and comes generously topped with dancing bonito flakes, making each bite incredibly savory and satisfying.
