🍑Lazy Peach & Apple “Dump” Dessert🍎

This is basically a dump cake… but not really a cake at all. It’s warm, gooey, caramelized fruit with a buttery crisp top — and it takes almost no effort. Perfect for when you want dessert “now”.

Ingredients:

• 1 can peaches in syrup (don’t drain!)

• 1 ripe apple, sliced

• Brown sugar

• Cinnamon

• Flour *or* pancake mix

• Butter

• Maple syrup

• Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Directions:

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 450°F

2️⃣ Pour the entire can of peaches with syrup into an oven-safe dish.

3️⃣ Mix in the sliced apple.

4️⃣ Sprinkle cinnamon over the top (measure with your heart).

5️⃣ Add a generous layer of brown sugar— this is what thickens and caramelizes the syrup.

6️⃣ Sprinkle a thin layer of flour or pancake mix over everything.

7️⃣ Add slices or small scoops of butter evenly across the top so it melts and crisps the surface.

8️⃣ Finish with a drizzle of maple syrup for extra caramelized crunch.

🔥 Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.

Serve warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream melting over the top. Sweet, buttery, cozy perfection.

... Read moreWhen I first tried this lazy peach and apple dump dessert, I was blown away by how such minimal effort could produce such a comforting and delicious treat. The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and flexibility—you don’t have to be a professional baker to create something that tastes like a homemade dessert. One tip I found helpful is to adjust the cinnamon and brown sugar amounts to your preferred sweetness and spice level. If you love more caramel notes, adding a bit more brown sugar really enhances the gooey texture as it bakes with the syrup from the canned peaches. Using a thin layer of flour or pancake mix on top helps create that buttery crispness when baked, so don’t skip it; pancake mix works surprisingly well and adds a nice texture without making it like a traditional cake. I also often substitute the apple with pears or even add berries for a different fruity twist. The drizzle of maple syrup on top before baking is optional but highly recommended—it creates a beautifully caramelized crust that's both crunchy and sweet. Serving it warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream melts the ice cream slowly into the fruit, making every bite rich and indulgent. This dessert is perfect for unexpected guests or when you crave something sweet without spending hours in the kitchen. Plus, it fits nicely into hashtag categories like #EasyDessert, #DumpCake, #PeachDessert, #CozyBaking, and #SimpleRecipes, making it a relatable and shareable recipe for anyone looking for quick and cozy treats at home.
