Let’s add some lyrics to the junk journal!

I struggled a bit with creating these pages, then I reminded myself why I started my junk journal in the first place 🥰

#junkjournal #visualdiary #moodboard #colorinspo #Lemon8

2/21 Edited to

When I first started incorporating lyrics into my junk journal, I also faced moments of uncertainty—some pages didn’t turn out as I expected, which is completely normal. What helped me was remembering the original purpose of my journal: to create a personal space for expression without rules. Adding lyrics allows the journal to take on deeper meaning, connecting visuals with emotions or memories tied to the words. For anyone struggling with their pages not matching their vision, I recommend experimenting with moodboards or color inspiration palettes to guide your creativity. Using phrases or song lyrics that resonate emotionally can bring cohesion between your artwork and writing. It’s important to embrace imperfections, as these moments often lead to unexpected discoveries and new ideas. Try layering text over mixed media backgrounds using different fonts or handwriting styles to add dimension. You can also blend snippets of lyrics with photos, drawings, or ephemera to create a richer visual diary experience. This process helped me stay motivated and find joy even when my journal pages weren’t perfect. The key is to enjoy the journey of self-expression, letting your junk journal evolve naturally and authentically.
