Losing the “we” after loss 🤍
Being his wife was part of who I was.
We had our routines, our plans, and all those little conversations about what we would do next. I was used to thinking in terms of “we.”
Then he was gone, and suddenly I had to make decisions alone while still wanting his opinion on every one of them.
I’m still me. But I miss who I got to be with him. I miss being his person in the everyday ways—the calls, the shared responsibilities, the life we were building.
Learning who I am now doesn’t mean leaving him behind. His love is still part of me, even as I figure out this life I never planned.
Has losing your spouse changed how you see yourself, too? 🤍🍀
