Anything helps 🖤
Hi, my name is Dakota, and I'm 23 years old. For the past three years, I've worked as a certified nursing assistant, caring for the elderly. Before that, I was a full-time caregiver for my mom with Multiple Sclerosis and my disabled grandmother. I work at the local hospital, and in my spare time, I enjoy art and caring for my pets.
Recently, while driving home from work around 1 a.m., I hit a deer on the interstate, totaling my car. The insurance which was in a family member’s name had (without my knowledge) lapsed, leaving me without any coverage or transportation. The estimated damages range from $5,000 to $10,000, a cost I can't afford.
Without a car, I can't reliably get to work, take my pets to the vet in an emergency, attend appointments, evacuate incase of weather emergency, or buy groceries. My disabled parents and grandparents are unable to help financially, as they live paycheck to paycheck themselves recently starting payments on a functioning wheelchair for my grandmother. I've already sold everything of value and taken out available loans, but it's not enough.
After struggling with homelessness from 18 to 20, I finally found stability in 2023 with a place to call my own and a job I love. Now, I risk losing it all.
Please, any donation, share, or positive thought would mean the world to me. Your support can help me regain the security I've worked so hard to achieve.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you have a blessed week. I'll continue to share updates on my progress.
