First pic is current. Second is last year. My face has been breaking out like this since I tried Rhodes Glazing fluid in August. I was able to return it but…it’s been 6 months and my face is still like this, daily zits. Has anyone had this happen before??#rhode

... Read moreIt all started back in August. I was so excited to jump on the Rhode Glazing Fluid hype train, hoping for that perfect dewy glow everyone was talking about. My skin before was generally quite good – mostly clear and smooth, with just the occasional minor blemish, as you can see from my older photos. I never thought a product could completely change my complexion for the worse.
But just a few days after incorporating the Glazing Fluid into my routine, I started noticing tiny bumps, then full-blown red blemishes popping up. It wasn't just one or two; it was persistent, daily zits, especially around my cheeks and chin – exactly where I applied the product. My skin texture completely changed, becoming rough and quite inflamed, a stark contrast to how it used to be. The constant presence of these red blemishes made my skin feel so textured, and it was a huge knock to my confidence.
I initially thought it might be a 'purging' phase, which can sometimes happen with new active ingredients, but after a couple of weeks, it only got worse. That's when I decided to stop using it and returned it. But here's the shocking and frustrating part: six months later, and my face is still battling these daily breakouts. It's been an incredibly frustrating journey trying to get my clear and smooth skin back. I've tried simplifying my routine, cutting out other actives, and focusing on gentle, barrier-repairing products, but nothing seems to clear it completely. I'm constantly dealing with new red blemishes and finding it hard to get my skin back to its pre-Rhode state.
I've been reading online, trying to figure out if anyone else has had a similar experience with Rhode products. I've come across forums discussing 'Rhode breakouts,' not just with the Glazing Fluid but also with the Glazing Milk. It seems some people, like me, find certain ingredients, perhaps the strong peptide concentrations or the occlusive nature of the product, might not agree with their skin, leading to persistent issues. It makes me wonder if there's something in the 'peptide glazing fluid' formulation that just doesn't sit well with everyone's skin barrier, leading to these stubborn breakouts.
While my main concern has been these stubborn breakouts and the noticeable change in my skin's texture, I've also seen mentions of other side effects. Some users have reported 'peptide glazing fluid burning under eye causes,' experiencing irritation or a stinging sensation in delicate areas. Thankfully, I haven't experienced any burning sensations around my eyes, but it just goes to show how differently our skin can react to even popular products. It’s a good reminder that what works for one person, especially with celebrity-backed brands, might not work for another.
It's been a real blow to my confidence, always having to deal with these textured skin issues. Every morning I wake up hoping for clear skin, only to find new red blemishes. If you've gone through something similar, especially with Rhode products or other peptide-heavy formulas, or if you have any tips on how to finally clear up these product-induced breakouts, please share! I'm desperate to get my clear and smooth skin back and move past this skin nightmare.
