Fall hair for brunettes

Every fall I like to switch up what I do with my hair. For the past two years I have done a deep red. I LOVE the red on me, but it comes out soo fast after a few washes. I’ve also been debating a deep purple, so I talked with my hairstylist and we decided to do both. We did a deep red with violet undertones and I absolutely LOVE IT!

I’m not sure what numbers she used, but I will definitely be getting this done all winter.

Sometimes I feel like each day I have a different hair color because in sunlight, it looks more red, but inside you can really see the purple tones come out.

10/10 recommend if you have dark hair!

... Read moreAfter trying out my new deep red with violet undertones, I've had so many questions about how to achieve this look, especially for dark or brunette hair! It truly is the perfect fall hair color, adding warmth and depth that really pops. Its dynamic nature makes it an exciting choice for anyone looking to switch up their style. For those of us with dark brown hair, incorporating red and purple undertones can be a game-changer. The beauty of a deep red with a violet undertone is how it transforms depending on the light. Indoors, you really see that rich, mysterious purple come through, giving your hair an almost jewel-toned quality. But step into the sunlight, and BAM! The vibrant red undertones ignite, making your hair look fiery and dimensional. This dual effect is what makes it so captivating and why I absolutely adore it for the cooler months. It's not just a single color; it's a dynamic shade that keeps things interesting and offers a different look throughout your day. If you're considering a deep red purple hair color, especially with those subtle violet hints, here are a few things I've learned from my own journey: Making Your Deep Red Violet Last: One challenge, as I mentioned, is how quickly red tones can fade. To keep your deep red with violet undertones looking fresh and vibrant, investing in color-safe products is crucial. I've found that sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners specifically designed for colored hair make a huge difference. Rinsing with cool water also helps seal the cuticle, locking in that beautiful deep red purple pigment. Weekly hair masks formulated for color protection can also revive the vibrancy and add a gorgeous shine. And don't forget heat protectant! Styling tools can strip color, so a good spray before blow-drying or curling is a must to preserve your vibrant new shade. Consulting Your Stylist for the Right Shade: While I knew I wanted a deep red with violet undertones, my stylist was key in choosing the exact shades and numbers to achieve it perfectly on my dark hair. She knew how to blend the deep red with purple undertones to ensure it looked natural yet striking. Don't be afraid to bring inspiration photos and discuss how deep you want the red, and how prominent you want the violet. Achieving that perfect 'dark red with purple undertones' or 'brown hair with purple undertone' often requires professional expertise to ensure the base color is lifted correctly without damage and the pigments are applied evenly. Styling to Showcase Your New Hue: This type of color, especially a dark auburn with a violet undertone, looks incredible with styles that show off its dimension. Waves and curls really highlight the interplay between the red and purple, making your hair look incredibly rich. Even a simple braid can reveal the different facets of the color. And when it comes to makeup, warm tones like bronze or gold eyeshadows can really make the red pop, while cooler mauves or plums can enhance the violet. It’s all about playing up those gorgeous undertones! Embracing a deep red with violet undertones has truly transformed my fall hair, and I couldn't recommend it more for fellow brunettes looking for a vibrant, yet sophisticated change! It’s such a beautiful way to add warmth and a touch of drama as the seasons change.
