Adopted
Urges federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal governments to support implementation of the Equal Rights Amendment (“ERA”) to the United States Constitution (“Constitution”), in accordance with Article V of the Constitution; and urges all bar associations and the legal community as a whole to support implementation of the ERA.
NY Bar Association statement:
President Biden has the authority, the responsibility, and the opportunity to direct that the Equal Rights Amendment be certified and published as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The New York City Bar Association calls on the President to do so now – before it is too late.
