Blaming vs. Owning
There are two ways to respond when things go wrong: blame others or take ownership.
Blaming says, “It’s not my fault. Someone else caused this.”
Ownership says, “What can I do differently to improve the situation?”
Blaming keeps you focused on the past and gives your power away.
Ownership puts your focus on the future and gives you the power to change your results.
Successful people understand that they cannot control everything that happens, but they can control their attitude, decisions, effort, and response.
In business and leadership, stop looking for excuses and start looking for solutions.
When you take responsibility for your actions, you become stronger, more disciplined, and more trustworthy.
Blame creates excuses.
Ownership creates results.
The moment you stop asking, “Who is responsible?” and start asking, “What can I do?” is the moment your growth begins.
