Moving from Hawaii to Dallas

I’m born and raised in Hawaii. I decided back I. February to take a leap of faith and move to a city I have never been to. I bought a one way flight as far in advance as I could, and that day is coming on Saturday November 2nd. I’m battling bittersweet feelings of missing my friends, family and community I’ve built over the years. And I’m so excited to see what I’ll be able to create. Dallas, be good this island girl 😘, who knows where I’ll end up next.

... Read moreMoving from Hawaii to Dallas is an adventure filled with mixed emotions. As I embrace this transition, it's essential to acknowledge the challenges that come with relocating. From finding a new home to building a social network, establishing a sense of belonging is crucial. In Dallas, the cultural diversity offers a unique experience compared to the laid-back island life. With its lively arts scene, diverse cuisine, and numerous recreational activities, Dallas holds an exciting promise for newcomers. Connect with local communities through platforms like social media groups or meetups, which can help ease the loneliness of leaving behind lifelong friends and family. It's also beneficial to explore the city, uncovering hidden gems and creating new memories along the way. Embracing change is part of the adventure, and while I may miss Hawaii's stunning beaches and warm sunsets, I am eager to see what Dallas has in store for me. Remember, every move is an opportunity for growth and discovery.
