I thought I needed To be grateful and Quiet
For a long time, I thought wanting more meant I wasn’t grateful for what I already had.
I loved doing hair.
I loved my clients.
I was proud of what I had built.
But there was still this quiet feeling that there could be more.
More flexibility.
More freedom.
More time with my family.
And honestly, I felt guilty admitting that.
Like I should just be happy with what I had and stop asking questions.
Now I realize gratitude and ambition can exist in the same heart.
Being thankful for where you are doesn’t mean you have to stop growing.

Over time, I've discovered that the tension between feeling grateful and wanting more is a common experience, especially for working moms and entrepreneurs striving to craft a fulfilling life. Like many, I once believed that ambition was a sign of ingratitude, but the truth is more nuanced. You can cherish your current successes—be it a growing business, loyal clients, or income stability—while still aspiring for greater flexibility, freedom, and quality time with your family. In my journey, this realization helped dissolve the guilt I previously felt when dreaming of expansion or change. Instead of seeing gratitude as a quiet acceptance, I've learned to treat it as a foundation from which growth can spring. This mindset shift allowed me to embrace opportunities without feeling disloyal to past achievements. Moreover, this balance is crucial for mental health and motivation. Accepting that wanting more is natural encourages continuous personal growth without the burden of guilt. It fosters a mindset aligned with design—intentionally shaping life rather than merely managing it. For anyone juggling multiple roles or building a business, remember that gratitude and ambition coexist harmoniously. By practicing both, you honor your present while paving the way for an enriched, well-rounded future.
