😫 Quiet People Problems 😫

Are you a naturally quiet person? & do you deal with certain people at work that has a issue with you being quiet?

All my life I have been pretty much quiet and to myself. But as I started working, I’ve noticed at many jobs I’ve worked at during my lifetime either had an issue on why I’m so quiet and come up with crazy scenarios on why I don’t talk as much. There are times where I’m going through something and I just become really quiet because I don’t wanna show any emotions and that’s how I usually cope when I’m going through something. I just stay quiet and to myself. But there’s other days/times where I’m completely fine and I just be to myself and just quiet, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to talk to anyone, They can come up to me and talk (but they don’t and assume something’s wrong with me every time I’m quiet), but I’m just quiet, and I can’t help that I’m quiet, that’s just who I am and I’m most definitely not going to change who I am. So do any of you guys go through the same thing?

... Read moreAs someone who has always been naturally quiet, I completely understand the challenges of being misunderstood at work. Many people assume silence means something is wrong or that the quiet person is unapproachable, but that is often far from the truth. Quietness can be a way to focus, recharge, or simply be comfortable in your own space. In my experience, workplaces can sometimes have a bias toward extroversion, where outgoing behavior is valued more, making quiet individuals feel pressured to act differently. But quiet people bring unique strengths — they tend to be great listeners, thoughtful decision-makers, and calm under pressure. When I feel overwhelmed or dealing with personal struggles, going quiet becomes my way to cope and avoid showing vulnerability. This isn't about shutting people out; it's a personal way to process emotions internally. On other days, I’m perfectly fine, just preferring solitude, but people often interpret this wrongly as a sign of a problem. If you're quiet at work, don’t feel obligated to change who you are to fit others' expectations. Instead, try gently communicating your nature to coworkers, letting them know you’re open to conversation even if you’re reserved. Sometimes people just need a little invitation to engage. Remember, being quiet is a strength, not a flaw. It’s important to embrace your personality and find environments or roles that appreciate the thoughtful and introspective qualities quiet people bring. Over time, fostering mutual understanding can reduce workplace misunderstandings and help create a more inclusive culture for all personality types.

I do! It sometimes causes issues in my relationship. I’m a pretty quiet person and if I’m quiet it doesn’t mean something’s wrong all the time. And I say that cuz sometimes it is cuz something’s wrong lol. But I like my own company. I’m okay with not speaking all the time. And idk why it rubs some people the wrong way. You’re not alone. ❤️
