My pop up was a success! And it was a rainy day 😁 I’ve baked a tons of goodies and can’t wait for the other future events I will be attending.
I’ve been baking since 2019, but this year, I decided it was time to take things to a whole new level. I took the leap to become a legal business, rebranded with a new name, color scheme, slogan, and more! I wanted a complete fresh start for the journey God has laid out for me, and I’m so ready for it.
Truthfully, I’ve gone back and forth for years about taking this from a side hustle to something bigger. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I actually shut down completely and said I was done baking for good. Yep, I was lowkey running away! 😩 But God had other plans and said, ‘You’re not running away from this!’
Soon, old customers, my mom’s clients, and others kept asking when I’d be back because they were craving my cookies. For a while, I kept pushing them off. I had stepped away because I was discouraged and doubted I could truly be successful, even though my heart was still in it.
But God opened my eyes and reminded me why I started. Thinking back on the smiles on people’s faces when they took a bite of something freshly made—without all the preservatives—touched my heart so much. I wanted to bring those smiles back.
That’s how Aseyah’s Bakehouse LLC was officially born here in Wisconsin! I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and where I’m headed. I give all the glory to God for showing me what’s possible, and I’m committed to being a faithful steward of this gift. ☺️ May y’all have a blessed day!”

From my experience attending and organizing similar events, the key to success lies in preparation and engagement. Baking a variety of goodies, like the delicious chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin cookies from Aseyah's Bakehouse, ensures there are treats to satisfy different tastes. Moreover, using fresh, preservative-free ingredients enhances the flavor and customer appreciation — something that truly stands out at local events.
Taking a baking hobby to a legal business, as Aseyah did, requires courage and planning. Rebranding with a new name, logo, and slogan can create a fresh identity that attracts loyal customers and new fans alike. For many bakers, faith and patience provide motivation during moments of doubt, especially after setbacks like the pandemic. Listening to customer feedback and staying connected, as seen when Aseyah’s former customers and family’s clients encouraged her return, are vital parts of growing a small business.
If you are thinking of starting your own bakehouse or hosting a pop-up event, consider showcasing your passion through storytelling and community involvement. Sharing your journey, including struggles and triumphs, helps build trust and a memorable brand. Also, offering samples or small tastings can be a great way to bring smiles to people's faces, just like Aseyah’s goal. Planning future events and maintaining consistent quality with ingredients such as butter, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and homemade touches make all the difference.
I’ve personally found that pop-ups can be a springboard for growth, providing valuable in-person customer interactions that online shops sometimes lack. Despite weather or initial fears, with faith, fresh ideas, and great baked products, your bakehouse can flourish. Aseyah’s story is an inspiring reminder that perseverance, belief, and a clear purpose can transform a dream into a successful business blessed with community love.
