Love the process even on the non dominant hand ✨

... Read moreI absolutely love doing my own nails! There's something so satisfying about creating a fresh, personalized look right at home. But let's be real, when it comes to intricate designs like polka dots and stripes, it can feel like a whole different ball game, especially when you're trying to work on your non-dominant hand. Trust me, I've been there, and I've learned a few tricks that make the process not just manageable, but actually enjoyable! First off, why polka dots and stripes? They're classic, versatile, and surprisingly easy to master with the right approach. For polka dots, you don't even need fancy tools! While a nail dotting tool is super handy, a bobby pin or even the tip of a toothpick can work wonders. The key is to get just the right amount of polish on your tool and apply it with a gentle, consistent pressure. You can play around with different sizes – tiny delicate dots, bold statement polka dots, or a mix of both for a playful look. I usually start with the larger dots and then fill in with smaller ones for a more dynamic pattern. Now, for stripes, these can really elevate your nail art game. If you're going for thin, crisp lines, a striping brush is your best friend. Load it with a small amount of polish and drag it smoothly across your nail. For thicker, bolder stripes, you might even consider using nail art tape. Apply your base color, let it dry completely, then place the tape to create your desired stripe pattern, paint over it, and peel the tape off while the polish is still slightly wet for a clean edge. The trick here is patience – rushing will lead to smudges! And what about that dreaded non-dominant hand? Oh, the struggle is real! My biggest piece of advice is to change your perspective. Instead of trying to maneuver your non-dominant hand to paint perfectly, try to keep it steady and move your dominant hand more. It might feel awkward at first, but with practice, it becomes second nature. I also find taking breaks helps – if I get frustrated, I put the brush down, shake out my hands, and come back to it. Remember, it's about loving the process, not just the perfect outcome immediately. "File & Shape" is also crucial before you even start painting. A well-prepared nail bed makes all the difference, especially when you're working with acrylics. Make sure your nails are perfectly shaped and buffed for a smooth canvas, which totally helps in achieving those clean lines and dots. Don't be afraid to experiment with colors and combinations. Black and white polka dots are timeless, but a pop of neon or pastel stripes can completely change the vibe. Once your design is dry (and I mean really dry, especially with acrylics!), always finish with a good quality top coat. This not only protects your hard work but also gives your nails that professional, glossy finish. So go on, embrace the DIY journey, challenge your non-dominant hand, and create some stunning polka dot and striped nail art!

How to Fall in Love With the Process of Discipline
Hey girl!!! 🫶🏽 Discipline used to feel like punishment. But then I realized: the most powerful version of me was hidden in the things I kept showing up for, even when no one was watching. Here’s how I truly started to fall in love with discipline (and stopped treating it like a chore): 🧼 1
