God ✅’ed Me👀
I didn’t have a New Year’s resolution for 2025, but I did have some spiritual goals in mind. Consistency in tithing, being my numero uno.
It’s not just the fact that he spoke to me about tithing in my reading, but the impression that I felt in my heart and the spiritual light bulb that I felt click on. It hit different!
The Divine Guidance.
When I got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, I surrendered my mind, heart, body, my goals, etc… but I guess I did not surrender my finances 👀. Every area of my life that I gave to God, I see his foot print! Oh he shows up. Financially, he still makes provision even in my disobedience because he is a gracious & merciful God. But when you know better you do better.
Malachi 3:8 reads: Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
I am guilty as charged🤦🏾♀️. I love God, but I guess I looked at tithing as like any other bill. I looked at it as my “duty.” To me , 10% is 10% whether it comes off the top or if I scrape it up from the bottom. God let “me know” that my sacrifice to him comes first. He can and will bless the fruit of my labor, but the surrender and the sacrifice of the 10% WITH the heart of a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7) comes first.
If I pay all my bills, go shopping, pay all my apple subscriptions, etc. THEN pay tithes… thats just not right. He’s been too good. It’s like I have been subconsciously choosing him last to be on my team 🤷🏾♀️( as it pertains to finances).
The spirit also let me know that tithing is sowing a “different kind” of seed. We sow in tears, we sow in prayer, we sow in living holy…. which are all sacrifices to him.
The funny thing is I’m very giving, not a stingy bone in my body, but God let me know it’s not about that. It’s about TRUSTING that HE will take care of me IN THAT AREA. I say it with my words all the time, because I know he is going to make a way. But what are my actions saying 🤷🏾♀️? They’re saying “God I got this part.” because I had been withholding that part from him.
I’m a single mom and I’m super independent because I’m all I can 💯 depend on & Im sure that’s where that comes from. But God truly let me know in my heart that he won’t just make provision, but he will make a surplus if I turn it over to him 🙌🏾 Are you a tither? Has God corrected you of the same? Please share, I’d love to hear from you.
Tithing, as highlighted in Malachi 3:8, is often viewed through a lens of duty or obligation, yet it holds deeper significance in one's spiritual life. It's not merely about giving a percentage; it's about aligning your heart with God's financial principles. Many believers struggle with prioritizing their financial commitments, viewing their contributions as just another bill to pay. However, true tithing is about trust—a trust that God will provide and bless abundantly when you put Him first. Engaging actively in tithing can transform one's financial outlook. By placing God at the forefront of financial decisions, individuals often experience peace of mind and spiritual fulfillment. This transition can be particularly significant for single parents or those managing finances independently, acknowledging the need for divine assistance in financial matters. As faith grows, so does the understanding that God’s provisions may extend beyond basic needs to overflow into surplus, emphasizing that sacrificial giving is a form of worship and reliance on God. Join a community of faith by sharing experiences and insights on tithing. How has your approach to giving changed over time? Have you experienced spiritual or financial breakthroughs through faithful giving? The journey of tithing is a personal one, yet it connects believers in a common purpose of trusting in God’s abundant provision.
