It's so relatable to hear about Penelope's speedy water drinking! It seems like every French Bulldog parent has a unique set of quirks they're trying to navigate with their fur babies. My own Frenchie sometimes has unusual habits too, and connecting with other owners for tips is invaluable. Speaking of Frenchie behaviors, I've noticed many of us wonder about why our French Bulldogs do certain things, like the common topic of a "french bulldog licking owner." Sometimes, it's pure affection! My previous Frenchie, a sweet grey boy similar to your Chance, would often give gentle licks to my hands or face when he wanted attention or was just feeling extra cuddly. Licking can also be a sign of anxiety or even a way for them to explore their environment. If you ever notice excessive licking, it's always good to check with your vet, but usually, it's just their way of trying to say 'I love you' or asking for a belly rub! I've even seen my Frenchie give a delicate lick to another dog's face as a greeting, which is totally normal dog behavior. Beyond licking, Frenchies have so many charming ways of expressing themselves. When people search for "frenchie saying i love you," they're often looking for those little signs of affection. It could be a soft head nudged into your lap, a happy grunt, or the way they follow you from room to room, just wanting to be near. My Penelope (not your Penelope, but a black Frenchie I fostered!) would do the cutest little snores and snorts as she curled up in her bed, which was her way of saying she felt safe and loved. It's also interesting to see queries about different Frenchie types, like "pink frenchies" or "french bulldog rottweiler mix puppies." While Chance and your black French bulldog Penelope represent the classic charm of the breed, the world of Frenchies does come in a beautiful array of colors and even some fascinating mixes. Regardless of their specific lineage or unique collar accessories—like Chance's orange and white fringed collar or Penelope's yellow bandana or light blue harness with a nautical-themed bandana—all Frenchies share that undeniable, loving personality. They’re known for being loyal, affectionate, and sometimes a little bit goofy! My foster Penelope even had cute red nail caps at one point, showing how much we adore personalizing their look. Dealing with their specific needs, like Penelope's fast drinking, is definitely part of the Frenchie parent journey. For fast drinkers, I've found that using a slow feeder water bowl or adding a few ice cubes can make a huge difference. Sometimes, putting a large, heavy, non-toxic toy or a couple of clean stones in the water bowl can also slow them down. This prevents them from gulping too much air along with the water, which can lead to upset stomachs. It's all about finding what works for your unique Frenchie! We all learn so much from each other, so keep sharing your experiences and asking for advice – that's what being a Frenchie family is all about!

Welcome! So excited to see more from you in the future💛
