The hunt is still on to this day for Harold "Butch" Knight. On January 17, 2015 he sent Sara's mother $2,000 along with a letter wanting to honor Sara's wish for cremation. In the letter, he also went into detail about how he was involved with drugs and had seen something, stating this is why she was killed. There is no evidence that has been found to back this up however. Last time he was seen was at a motel that he had checked into on January 15. He stayed for approximately 4 days and had dyed his hair and moustache black. Sara's car was found in a Walmart parking lot in Rangeley which is approximately 15 miles from the Canadian border, it is possible that he crossed over. Regardless of any possible leads, he has yet to be found, and the case remains open to this day. Butch did have diabetes, that may contribute to why he has not been seen. People speculate his condition may have taken him out due to the inability to get proper care on the run.
