Spanning from areas of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin with approximately 300 miles of water; it’s no surprise Lake Michigan is so haunted. It is estimated that there are around 1,500 vessels lost in the deep waters. Lake Michigan is known as a graveyard, and not just of ships. Throughout time, there have been around 30,000 people perish here; some bodies recovered, but all too many lost to the inky black depths. What may be lurking down there is unknown for after all, Lake Michigan is known for its monster. The weather can be quite treacherous in this area, the sunshine can turn into your worst nightmare before you even know it. Nestled in the heart of all of this horror sits the South Haven lighthouse that was built in 1871. Since then, she has lit the the lake up for the ships sailing in, and the dead coming home. This lighthouse is without a doubt a tourist attraction, but be careful- for you might find yourself getting directions from someone who isn’t actually there; or maybe not being able to leave at all since you have now entered the Lake Michigan Triangle. In the words of Rod Serling, “You are about to enter another dimension. Next stop, the Twilight Zone!”

This is the story of the South Haven Lighthouse.

Stay tuned…

I went there when I was a kid and I didn’t think it was haunted either and I didn’t see anything weird.🤨
