At 2am The Nightstalker entered the home of Vincent and Maxine Zazzara. Vincent was immediately shot in the head upon entrance. Maxine who was sleeping in the bedroom was awakened by the gunfire and came face to face with the intruder. She was brutally beaten and bound by her hands. While Ramirez ransacked the home, Maxine managed to get free and grab a shotgun she had under the bed. Unfortunately, the shotgun was not loaded when she went to fire. This was due to their grandchildren visiting earlier that week. Maxine was shot three times out of spite and her body was mutilated with a carving knife that he had retrieved from their kitchen. This was the only time he was known to take a token from his victim. He gouged her eyes out and placed them in a box. The bodies of Vincent and Maxine was found by their son Peter. The bullets found at the crime scene, matched the bullets found at the other crime scenes that have been under investigation. There were also shoe prints found in the household.
