$100 haul at Midtowne Market!

📍Location: Midtowne Market

Overall rating: 10/10

If you’re from or live near Saint Charles, Missouri— you have to go by Midtowne Market on the corner of Elm and Hawthorne. I feel like I’m in a 90s sitcom grocery store, and the people are the sweetest. I don’t get easily distracted by impulse buying as I would when I’m at Target (no hate to Target)! It has become a stable in our home for saving money, buying what we need, and best part— fresh, in-house made baked goods and breads from the bakery department. Ooo! Almost forgot to mention the hot chocolate machine they have out for customers. 💝

Read moreIt's always such a thrill to walk out of a grocery store with a cart full of goodies, knowing you've snagged amazing deals, especially when you're sticking to a budget like my recent $100 haul from Midtowne Market! It’s not just about the savings; it’s about the satisfaction of smart shopping and being prepared for the week ahead. So, how do I make that $100 go so far, and how can you too? One of my top tips for maximizing your grocery budget is to plan your meals around sales and what's in season. Before heading out, I always take a quick inventory of my pantry and fridge. This helps me avoid buying duplicates and ensures I use what I already have. Then, I check local flyers or online deals. For this particular haul, I knew I wanted staples like quality bread and butter, along with versatile items like potatoes and spinach that can be used in so many dishes. Seeing great prices on bacon and grapes was a bonus, perfect for breakfast or snacks! Another game-changer is embracing local markets like Midtowne. While big box stores have their place, smaller, independent grocers often offer unique, high-quality items—think those incredible in-house made baked goods I mentioned! You might think local means more expensive, but I've often found competitive pricing, especially on fresh produce. Plus, the experience itself adds so much joy to a mundane chore. The friendly faces and the charming '90s sitcom' vibe at Midtowne make it feel less like a task and more like a treasure hunt. I even spotted some fantastic canned goods that became quick pantry essentials. When I'm planning my actual meals from a haul like this, I think about versatility. Those potatoes? They can be roasted, mashed, or turned into a quick hash with some of that bacon and spinach. The bread becomes toast with butter and jam, or the base for sandwiches. Cereal is a no-brainer for quick breakfasts. And fresh grapes are a perfect, healthy snack throughout the day. It’s all about mixing and matching to create delicious, budget-friendly meals without feeling deprived. Don't forget to look for little perks! That hot chocolate machine at Midtowne Market? It’s a small touch, but it makes the shopping experience even more delightful. These small details contribute to why a store becomes a 'stable' in your routine. It’s about more than just food; it’s about community and convenience. So, next time you're planning your grocery run, consider these strategies. Look for those hidden gems in your local area, plan your meals wisely, and don't be afraid to try new things. You might just discover your own Midtowne Market that helps you save money and brings a little extra joy to your everyday routine!
