He was serious about it, using his nose to move the mulch and settle in. While Meatball's digging was harmless fun, I know for many dog owners, excessive digging can be a real headache. To manage it without stifling their natural instincts, you might consider creating a designated digging spot in your yard. A small sandbox or a specific area where they are encouraged to dig can save your precious mulch beds and flower arrangements. Burying some of their favorite toys or treats in this spot can make it extra appealing. Another thing is to ensure your dog gets enough mental and physical stimulation. A bored dog is often a destructive dog! Long walks, puzzle toys, and training sessions can help redirect that energy.
