Christmas Day in 1758, Halley's Comet circled back.
Today in 1758, Comet Halley appears again in the sky, as Edmond Halley, a British astronomer, had calculated and predicted earlier.
He studied the comets that appeared above the sky in 1531, 1607, and 1682 before proposing that these were not three comets, but the same comet, and calculated that they would reappear at the end of 1758.
However, Halley died in 1742 at the age of 85, which is that he only saw the comet once, but later astronomers still used his data to monitor its return until Christmas of 1758, the comet actually circled back.
Halley's Comet is named in honor of the calculator of the return, and to date, it is the only short-period comet that is clearly visible to the naked eye, and one human may have the opportunity to see it twice in his lifetime, returning to us in the middle of 2061. Please all be there to see Halley's Comet together. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
