Nonsense Words
Nonsense words are great for assessing if a student has a strong understanding of the sounds that letters make and can use that knowledge to blend words.

Additionally, nonsense word assessments can serve as diagnostic tools to identify specific phonics areas where a student might need more practice. By targeting instruction based on these insights, teaching becomes more personalized and effective.
