Trapper chase😌
That intense Trapper chase in the original post instantly reminded me of so many nail-biting moments in Dead by Daylight! He’s one of those killers who can truly make you panic if you're not careful. Over countless hours in the fog, I've learned a few tricks, and I'm happy to share them to help you all survive those intense encounters and make those epic escapes! First off, dealing with the Trapper requires a lot of map awareness. Always keep a keen eye out for his bear traps, especially around generators, hooks, and common looping structures. If you see him placing one, try to interrupt him if it's safe, or at the very least, remember its exact location. Disarming traps is crucial for map control, but only attempt it when you're sure the killer isn't nearby or if a teammate is actively drawing their attention. Trust me, I learned the hard way that disarming in plain sight is often a quick trip to the hook! When you're actually in a chase with the Trapper, avoid running in straight lines into obvious trap spots. Try to anticipate where he might have placed them. Sometimes, holding 'W' and sprinting through clear, open areas is safer than trying to loop a tile that you suspect might be trapped. Using pallets effectively is absolutely key – don't drop them too early and waste them, but don't get too greedy and get hit either. Breaking line of sight with sharp turns or quick vaults can sometimes make him lose track of you for a precious second, giving you just enough time to gain distance or even attempt a quick SAFE HOOK RESCUE if a teammate is in trouble nearby. Speaking of SAFE HOOK RESCUEs, these are moments where true teamwork shines! My personal golden rule for unhooking is: never go for an immediate unhook unless you have a perk like Borrowed Time (BT) equipped and the killer is clearly distracted. Always take a moment to assess if the killer is camping or proxy camping the hook. If they are, try to get their attention first or have another teammate draw them away. A truly successful rescue isn't just about getting someone off the hook; it's about getting them off safely so they can continue the game. Sometimes, a risky play like trying to THROW SNOWSKULL (if it's an event item or a distraction mechanic) to draw attention can create a crucial opening, but always be mindful of the consequences and only try it if you're confident it won't lead to both of you being downed! My personal go-to perks for these high-pressure situations often include perks like Lithe or Dead Hard for quick escapes, and definitely Borrowed Time for those critical unhooks. Empathy is also fantastic for knowing when a teammate needs help or when the killer is busy with someone else across the map. Remember, the goal isn't always to outrun the killer for five generators straight; sometimes it's about buying precious time for your teammates, completing objectives efficiently, and making calculated risks that pay off. Every single match is a learning experience, and even after hundreds of hours, I still find new ways to survive... or get sacrificed! Keep practicing, paying close attention to map layouts, and communicating with your team (especially if you're in a SWF group). You'll be juking Trappers and performing epic rescues like a seasoned pro in no time! See you all in the fog!
