Intel Ambush Developing Nova Lake Large Cache Model 180MB 🍋

Intel is set to flip the CPU market game again with "Nova Lake." The architecture of the next generation of CPUs is expected to launch in 2026 under the Core Ultra 300 family, with a key selling point being the ultra-large L3 cache technology, known as bLLC (big Last Level Cache). Top models like Core Ultra 9 will offer up to 180MB more than AMD's Ryzen 9 X3D once made at 128MB.

In addition to the large cache, Nova Lake is fully organized in terms of cores, with the highest version reaching 52 cores (including LP-E Core) with DDR5 support, speeds up to 8000 MT / s and PCIe 5.0 up to 36 lanes, and also uses a new socket, LGA 1954, that Intel says will increase Single-thread efficiency by over 10% and multi-thread strength by up to 60% compared to previous models.

At the same time, Intel is also reportedly preparing to adapt some chip designs to 2-Die, following in the next quarter, with up to 48 cores (16P + 32E) in total, but will not have a big cache bLLC due to chip space constraints, possibly resulting in tasks focused on fast data access, such as gaming or graphics rendering.

Although the price is not yet disclosed, it is expected that high-end models like the Core Ultra 9 and Ultra 7 may cost 20,000 to 30,000 baht, depending on the market and the target audience. It is to be seen whether Nova Lake will be able to reclaim space from Ryzen X3D by 2026.
