Previously, many people who installed Windows 11 or Windows 10 through .ISO files were often advised to rush to update Microsoft Defender immediately after installation, because the installation file usually has an outdated version of the antivirus program, making it a security risk in the early days. The last update put a Microsoft Defender package with the new Security Intelligence version 1. 431.54.0 directly into the Windows installer. Whether it's Windows 11, Windows 10, or even Windows Server versions, after the installation is complete, users will get a system with similar levels of malware protection from the latest version since the first boot, which helps close the vulnerability that was previously a problem.

The new version of this package will feature Platform version 4.18.2506 0.7, Engine version 1.1.2506 0.6 and Security Intelligence version 1.431.452.0, which Microsoft says has added new threat detection capabilities such as Backdoor, Phishing, Trojan and other malware that have recently been discovered during this phase.

Of course, turning on the internet connection and letting Windows Update run is still recommended because the virus database is constantly updated, but the advantage of the installer having a new version of the Defender with the ISO file in the first place is not to worry about being hit by malware in the first minute after installation, as before.
