Windows 10, 11 Not Reset / Recovery 🚨
Microsoft had another problem with the recently released August 2025 Patch Tuesday update, which was supposed to be an update to fix vulnerabilities and improve stability. It turned out that a small number of users had a problem. They failed to install the SSD through to the Event Viewer bug. Most recently, Microsoft confirmed that another bug, the Windows Reset and Recovery features, did not work.
.
Anyone who tries to press Reset my PC through the System > Recovery menu or selects Fix problems using Windows Update (Reinstall Now), as well as remotely reset orders with RemoteWipe CSP, will find that the system is not working as it should.

With quite a wide impact, Microsoft didn't wait for the next Patch Tuesday in September, but quickly released an out-of-band update emergency update, immediately releasing it as KB5066189 for Windows 11, 23H2 and 22H2 versions, KB5066188 for Windows 10 versions 22H2 and LTSC 2021, as well as KB5066187 for LTSC 2019.
