Use Copilot on Windows. Help with simple quotes. 🍋

Microsoft is constantly developing Copilot on Windows. It has recently released an update version 1.25082.132.0 that adds new capabilities. The most interesting thing is to search for files with "natural language" or Semantic File Search for Copilot + PCs.

Users no longer need to remember the exact file name. Just type in a simple description, you can find it immediately, such as "Find my CV" to search for a resume or "Find pictures with red cars" to find red car images. There is also the option to assign access to the file via Settings > Permissions for those concerned about privacy.

In addition to the search feature, Copilot also reshapes the home page to make it more enjoyable. It shows both recent discussions with Copilot, recently used apps, and recent open files. It makes it easier to start or find old things back. For example, we can select a file and then have Copilot summarize the content, check the object in the image, or even ask questions related to it. Currently, many file types are supported, including .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .csv, .json, .png, .jpeg, .svg, and .txt. Unsupported files are not listed in Recent Files.

Privacy matters. Microsoft clearly confirms that all work is processed on the user's machine. No files are uploaded on the server. Copilot's data comes only from the Windows "Recent" folder, the same folder that Word or Excel used to display the latest files, so anyone with a leak is more comfortable.

Now, Copilot's new features are gradually being released to Windows Insiders users across all channels. Updates are gradual. Some may be used before or a little later than others, but it's an interesting upgrade because it makes Copilot a much smarter and easier-to-use assistant.
