Big Update. Lots of new toys.

Microsoft released a large batch of Windows 11 stick app updates, with Paint, Snipping Tool and Notepad, got plenty of new features.

Let's start with Paint, which many people are familiar with. This time, it's a big upgrade. It can save the work as a project file. It will keep all the layers as well. It makes it easy for us to come back later or move on to another machine. The saved file is a .paint extension, like a .psd file. Another thing added is a transparent slider, or the weight of a pencil and brush. It allows more realistic drawing or mixing of colors.

The Snipping Tool is quite a page. Add a Quick Markup feature that allows us to write or insert notes before saving a screenshot. Just press Win + Shift + S and select the Quick Markup button. There will be a lot of tools, including pens, highlights, erasers, shapes, and even emojis. It will also expand the selected screen area, share, continue searching with Bing or ask Copilot.

This round of Notepad is very interesting because the AI feature that used to require a premium application is now available for free. If anyone has a Copilot + PC, they can use the NPU chip to help you draft, rewrite or summarize text immediately. No need to log in to a Microsoft account, but if anyone still has a premium package, they can use the cloud model instead. The only thing to know is that the AI mode in Notepad now only supports English.
