Intel appears to be ambushing development of a new feature for its own XeSS image upscaling system after someone came across hidden data in the Arc GPU driver file, which talks about the AI-based XeSS Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) technology, creating additional frames to make framerates more slippery without rendering every full frame.

The discovery came from a Reddit user named Organic-Bird-587 who came across both a comment and an icon in the Arc Control Panel, hinting that the feature may be prepared for future settings; while Intel has yet to officially confirm it, it looks likely to see the real thing launch with an Arc B770 screen card by this year.

If true, Intel will be able to catch up with NVIDIA and AMD closer than ever. Because NVIDIA now has a Multi-Frame Generation feature in the RTX 50 Blackwell series. AMD doesn't have one yet, but there is news that it will be updating a new version of FSR called Redstone soon. Importantly, the last Intel XeSS is not limited to the camp screen card itself, so if MFG is available, it may also support other screens, which is a huge advantage.
