Untie the bug. Intel Gen 11. Upload Win 11 24H2 now. 🍋

Microsoft has opened the green light for many Intel Gen 11 CPUs to update to Windows 11 version 24H2. After previously being blocked from uploading because of a problem with the Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) driver that caused the machine to experience BSOD every time it tried to upgrade from Windows 10, Microsoft had to save it for safety.

Intel SST is actually just a small chip that helps to process sound on newer Intel machines. It doesn't sound complicated, but push became the reason the crash machine took it so easily when it hit Windows 11 24H2 that Microsoft had to pause releasing updates.

After nearly a year of waiting, Microsoft confirmed that the problem is now cleared. Anyone who wants to upgrade must make sure that the SST Audio Controller driver is updated to version 10.29.00 5714 or above or 10.30.00 .5714 or above. Usually Windows Update is prepared, but if anyone hasn't found it, check the update yourself.

When updating the driver, the system will automatically unblock, but sometimes it will have to wait up to 48 hours for Windows 11 24H2 to show up on the download page. If you wait and don't come, it may mean that there are no drivers that match our device. Microsoft recommends contacting the manufacturer directly, or if you don't hurry, wait because Microsoft and Intel are gradually releasing new updates through Windows Update.
