Windows 10 users have reported that Microsoft's Media Creation Tool (MCT), normally used for creating or loading ISO files, making Flash Drive into Windows, or upgrading to Windows 11, is unavailable after updating to the latest version 26100.6584 released at the end of last September.

When the program is turned on, it will bounce off immediately. There are no notifications or error codes to be seen. Microsoft has already confirmed that this problem has occurred. It says that the latest version of the Media Creation Tool may not function normally when used on Windows 10 and is under review to find a solution. A new update is expected to be released soon.

I don't know if I intend or hell, because it happens when Windows 10 runs out of support. While Microsoft itself is trying hard to invite users to upgrade to Windows 11, the pop is distracting almost every day, and it also releases ads that are "better in every way," whether it's performance, security, or extreme game features.

But when it turned out that the official upgrade tool did not work by itself, causing anyone who wanted to move from Windows 10 to Windows 11 to use an external program like Rufus instead, downloading the ISO file of Windows 11 from the official website and making a flash drive by themselves, which is still the usual way to work.

ถ้าใครกำลังค้นคำว่า “10 setup” แล้วเจออาการแปลก ๆ อย่างเปิด Windows 10 Setup / Media Creation Tool (MCT) แล้วโปรแกรมเด้งปิดทันที ไม่มีโค้ด error ให้ดู บอกเลยว่าไม่ได้เป็นคนเดียวค่ะ/ครับ ช่วงนี้มีรายงานว่าตัว MCT บน Windows 10 บางเครื่องใช้งานไม่ได้หลังอัปเดตเวอร์ชันล่าสุด ทำให้คนที่ตั้งใจจะ “กด setup เพื่ออัปเกรดเป็น Windows 11” ไปต่อไม่ถึงจริง ๆ สิ่งที่ผม/ฉันลองไล่เช็กก่อน (เผื่อคุณอยากตัดปัญหาพื้นฐานออกก่อน) - ลองคลิกขวา Run as administrator (บางเครื่องช่วยได้บ้าง แม้ไม่ได้แก้ทุกเคส) - ปิดแอนตี้ไวรัส/โปรแกรมป้องกันบางตัวชั่วคราว แล้วลองเปิดใหม่ (บางครั้งกันไฟล์ setup ทำงาน) - เคลียร์ไฟล์ชั่วคราว: กด Win+R พิมพ์ %temp% แล้วลบไฟล์ที่ลบได้ จากนั้นรีสตาร์ต - เช็กพื้นที่ไดรฟ์ C: ให้เหลืออย่างน้อย 20–30GB เพื่อกันอัปเกรดค้าง/เด้ง แต่ถ้ายังเด้งปิดเหมือนเดิม วิธีที่ “ทำงานได้จริง” ในช่วงที่ MCT งอแง คือข้าม Media Creation Tool ไปเลย แล้วทำ USB ติดตั้งจากไฟล์ ISO แทน (วิธีนี้คนใช้กันเยอะมาก และยังอิงไฟล์จากเว็บทางการ) วิธีทำแบบสั้น ๆ (ISO + Rufus) 1) ดาวน์โหลดไฟล์ Windows 11 ISO จากเว็บไซต์ทางการของ Microsoft (เลือกภาษา/รุ่นให้ตรง) 2) เตรียมแฟลชไดรฟ์ USB อย่างน้อย 8GB (ข้อมูลข้างในจะถูกลบ) 3) ดาวน์โหลด Rufus แล้วเปิดโปรแกรม 4) เลือก Device เป็น USB ของเรา และเลือก Boot selection เป็นไฟล์ ISO ที่โหลดมา 5) ตั้งค่า Partition scheme ให้เหมาะกับเครื่อง: - เครื่องใหม่ส่วนใหญ่: GPT + UEFI - เครื่องเก่า/Legacy BIOS: MBR 6) กด Start เพื่อสร้าง USB ติดตั้ง จากนั้นถ้าต้องการ “อัปเกรดจากใน Windows” (ไม่อยากบูตลงแฟลชไดรฟ์) ให้เสียบ USB แล้วเข้าไปเปิดไฟล์ setup.exe ในแฟลชไดรฟ์ได้เลย ซึ่งหลายคนใช้วิธีนี้แทน 10 setup / MCT แล้วผ่าน ทิปที่ผม/ฉันคิดว่าสำคัญมากก่อนอัปเกรด - สำรองไฟล์สำคัญไว้ก่อน (เผื่ออัปเกรดพลาด) - เช็กว่าเครื่องรองรับ Windows 11 (TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, CPU) จะได้ไม่เสียเวลา - ถ้าตั้งใจติดตั้งใหม่ (clean install) เตรียมไดรเวอร์เน็ต/ไวไฟไว้ เผื่อหาไม่เจอหลังลง สรุปคือ ถ้า “10 setup” ในความหมายของการเปิด Setup/MCT แล้วมันเด้งปิด ตอนนี้ทางออกที่ไวและชัวร์คือใช้ ISO ทางการ + Rufus ทำ USB ไปก่อน รอ Microsoft อัปเดตแก้บั๊กค่อยกลับไปใช้เครื่องมือทางการก็ได้ค่ะ/ครับ
