It's the seventh time this year... 🚨
Google released an emergency update to plug the seventh Zero-Day vulnerability of this year. The latter was found to have been deployed for real cyber attacks. This vulnerability, using the code CVE-2025-13223, is classified as high intensity CVSS v3 8.8/10 points. It is caused by a Type Confusion problem within the V8 JavaScript engine.

This vulnerability was discovered by Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG) team that often comes across attacks from state-sponsored groups and targets high-risk individuals such as journalists, opposition politicians and dissidents.

The reason for the vulnerability is a mismanagement of the data type in V8 that allows the poor to create dangerous web pages to run attack code or gain control of the victim's machine.

Google has released a patch fix in the latest version.

Anyone who has not updated Chrome recommends going into Settings > About Crome to allow the system to check and download automatic patches. Then press Relaunch to restart and complete the installation.

Google has not yet revealed the depth of the bug because it wants to wait for most users to update it to prevent hackers from using more attacks. The CVE-2025-13223 vulnerability is one of several Zero-Days that have been used in real attacks this year, following patched entries in March, May, June, July, and September.
