New CPU data drop Ryzen 7 9850X3D 🍋

Most recently, data has been dropped from the Drivers and Downloads page of the AMD website itself, convincing that Ryzen 7 9850X3D is set to launch as this year's new X3D CPU, posing as a "Refresh model" that is coming out to cope with the upcoming Intel Core Ultra Refresh at a similar time. The specs that come out are as follows:

- 8 Core / 16 Thread (Zen 5)

- L3 Cache 96 MB (3D V-Cache)

- Base Clock 4.7 GHz

- 5.6 GHz Clock Boost

- TDP 120W

If you look at the overall spectrum, it's hardly a Ryzen 7 9800X3D that adds a Boost Clock to + 400 MHz, which is pretty much the same in X3D family CPUs that are usually limited in speed because of the heat of the 3D V-Cache.

It is expected that this speed increase comes from the use of TSMC's new advanced packaging technique that allows AMD to move the SRAM layer of 3D V-Cache under the compute tile instead of overlaying the top like its predecessor; the result is a CPU, better cooling, more stagnant boost, and reduced the chance of thermal throttling.

All of this will directly affect gaming performance, because the Ryzen 7 9800X3D was originally one of the best framerate CPUs on the market. With this increase in strength, there is a huge chance that 9850X3D will be on the platform as AMD's strongest gaming CPU.

AMD has not yet set an official launch date, but with the data already on the web, it can be said to be waiting soon. It's expected to launch late or early 2026 to counter Intel's extreme pace.
