There's a strong onboard from Intel. 🚀
After Intel officially released the Core Ultra 300 CPU on the Panther Lake platform, one of the issues that received a lot of attention was not only the performance of the CPU itself, but the upgrading of the on-board graphics, or iGPU, which in this round Intel clearly put in more fully organized than all generations ago.

The most watched version of the iGPU is the Intel Arc B390, which uses the Xe3 architecture and is positioned as the flagship iGPU for notebooks. The top model comes with 12 Xe-Core, a significant increase over the iGPU on the previous Xe2 architecture. Intel says the Arc B390 offers around 73-82% higher performance than AMD's Radeon 890M when tested at 1080p resolution and also better performance per watt compared to rival chips in a similar power range of around 45 W.

Intel also compared the Arc B390 to the GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, stating that in many games it can be framerated nearby, or in some cases superior to the RTX 4050 that set the TGP around 60 W. Despite the results of the test coming from Intel itself and perhaps some bias, it is enough to reflect the direction that this new generation of on-board graphics has higher potential than ever before.

Another hallmark of the Arc B390 is being the first iGPU to support the same AI Multi-Frame Generation or XeSS 3 as a split screen card, supporting up to 4x mode frame generation, and it has been confirmed by the Battlefield 6 development team that it will support such technology from the first day the game is available.

From the big picture, Intel sees the Arc B390 as powerful enough to challenge entry-level split-screen cards and allow light notebooks, including future portable game consoles, to play games without the need to rely on split-screen cards.

However, such strength is still limited to the top-of-the-line chips, where prices are expected to be high, and where market-oriented, they may have to be compared to AMD's Ryzen AI Max group chips. Even with overall computing power, Intel may still be secondary, but it's a good sign that Intel is turning to high-performance notebook markets, divine on-board graphics, after AMD's sole advantage in this group.
