A damn-driven OS. 🚨
Michał Kiciński, co-founder of CD Projekt, creator of legendary games like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher where he is now the new shareholder of gaming distribution platform GOG, gave an interview to PC Gamer, speaking about his personal views on the Windows operating system as well as the direction of today's ecosystem.

He revealed that he was very surprised by the quality of Windows, seeing it as a lower-than-expected quality of software and products, and couldn't believe an operating system of this nature would stay on the market for years, adding that he wasn't surprised that a number of users began to turn to other OSes instead.

Although he currently no longer uses Windows and mainly resorts to macOS, he still has to occasionally help solve Windows computer problems for his family, which, in the light of that experience, he sees Windows as not a very smooth or user-friendly system.

According to Neowin, this kind of commentary is not new to Windows, as in the past both former Microsoft engineers and tech figures have periodically come out to criticize Windows on UI / UX and performance issues, including cases where prominent tech executives like Elon Musk have expressed confusion over some of Windows 11's functionality as well.

At the same time, the tide of interest in alternative operating systems like Linux is becoming increasingly talked about; especially discalls designed to look and use nearby Windows, such as Zorin OS, which can appeal to some Windows 10 and 11 users looking for new alternatives.

Despite Windows remaining the primary operating system for users and game developers around the world, his comments reflected that the competition between operating systems was becoming more intense, and that user experience remained an important factor that many parties were paying attention to.
