Most recently, Robert Hallock, an Intel executive, came forward to reveal that the company was preparing to change its approach in a big way to newer CPU sockets like LGA 1954 that would emphasize "last longer" without changing motherboards as often as in the past.

Previously, Intel often changed sockets almost every 1-2 jen, causing people who upgraded CPUs to change boards along with them. Unlike the AMD Socket AM4 side, which was used for many years to become prominent and popular.

Intel has directly acknowledged that it is starting to "listen to the user's voice" and is trying to prolong the platform longer than ever. It is reported that LGA 1954 may support at least four Generations: Nova Lake, Razer Lake, Titan Lake, and Hammer Lake. If possible, it is good news for the computer assembly line because it reduces the upgrade cost a lot.

หลังจากที่เคยรู้สึกหงุดหงิดกับการเปลี่ยนเมนบอร์ดบ่อย ๆ เมื่ออัปเกรด CPU Intel มาตอนนี้ก็เริ่มเปลี่ยนแนวทางแล้วนะครับ ด้วยซ็อกเก็ต LGA 1954 ที่จะช่วยให้เราใช้เมนบอร์ดเดิมได้นานขึ้นมาก จากที่เคยต้องเปลี่ยนบอร์ดทุกๆ 1-2 รุ่น เพื่อให้รองรับเทคโนโลยีใหม่ๆ การที่ Intel จะรองรับได้ถึง 4 เจนอย่าง Nova Lake, Razer Lake, Titan Lake และ Hammer Lake นั้นถือว่าเป็นการฟังเสียงผู้ใช้ที่ดีมากเลย ผมเองเคยประกอบคอมพ์หลายชุดและมักจะเสียเงินไปกับการซื้อเมนบอร์ดใหม่บ่อย ๆ ซึ่งเป็นค่าใช้จ่ายที่ค่อนข้างสูง ความเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ใกล้เคียงกับแนวทางของ AMD ที่ซ็อกเก็ต AM4 สามารถใช้งานกับ CPU หลายปี ทำให้แฟน ๆ AMD มีความสะดวกสบายและประหยัดได้เยอะมาก นอกจากนี้ การที่ Intel เลือกใช้แนวทางนี้ ยังช่วยให้ระบบนิเวศของฮาร์ดแวร์มีความยั่งยืนและลดขยะอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ได้ด้วย เป็นการตอบรับแนวคิดที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมมากขึ้น สำหรับสายประกอบคอมหรือคนที่ชอบอัปเกรดบ่อย ๆ การใช้บอร์ดที่ยืดอายุการใช้งานแบบนี้ จะช่วยให้ประหยัดเงินและลดความยุ่งยากในการหาชิ้นส่วนที่เข้ากันได้ในอนาคตอย่างมาก สุดท้ายนี้ อยากให้ Intel ทำได้จริงตามที่ประกาศ เพื่อเป็นทางเลือกที่ดีขึ้นสำหรับผู้ใช้งานทุกคนครับ
