Based on the images being published, such rams have labels affixed like regular merchandise, but many users have noticed dots that indicate they may not be authentic, such as unusually rounded PCB edges, lighter-than-normal circuit board colors, different PMIC chip contours from the real ones, including letters and symbols on inaccurate-looking ram pellets.

In addition, another X user linked to the sales announcement on Yahoo Auctions, stating that a similar ram also appeared on Mercari, making it expected that these fake DDR5 SO-DIMM rams might not have just one piece, but were already starting to be distributed in Japan's second-hand market.

According to TAKI, the case of SO-DIMM notebook ramps is easier to detect because the chip on the panel can be seen directly, but for DDR5 desktop ramps it may be more difficult to detect because most consumer ramps are equipped with Heatsink, covering the PCB and ramming pellets, making it easy for buyers to see the details of internal parts.
